Desire (Story Element)
The driving force of the protagonist.
Desire is the engine of the story. The protagonist must pursue a clear and compelling goal.
This visible goal allows the audience to understand the stakes of the journey and anticipate the outcome (or fear it). Without clear desire, the story wanders.
